about

" From the first few moments of the EP opening “World On My Shoulders” comes a catchy as hell infectious guitar riff and some solid drum thumping that propel the song forward and once the raspy, sultry vocals of singer Jenna Duvall arrive you’re in the midst of a powerful song that just grabs you and pulls you in. Those guitars and drums are courtesy of Ian Duvall and Tenesha Wilson respectively and are part and parcel to the overall strength of the band’s appealing delivery. You can hear this song below…

The second song “Lantern” is a more uptempo selection and a definite stand-out within the modern rocker is once again Jenna’s angst-ridden vocals that are seemingly addressing an absent love and when she repeatedly croons the “I’m over it…” parts I find myself believing her claim quite adamantly. The third song “Devil In Disguise” takes the slower road yet again while ramping things up with its’ Blues thickness and at times displays smatterings of Grunge to create a sonic platform where the three previously mentioned musicians, along with the apparently recently departed bassist Jonathan Geppert, really excel at their chosen roles within the band. “Second Time Around”, the fourth song on this offering, has an immense commercial appeal to it in my opinion and it would not surprise me one bit if it were to be issued as a Single in some format. It is a song that should easily find favor with fans of the band Heart or anyone that enjoys well crafted mid-tempo radio – friendly tunes. The fifth song “Red Queen” is one of the more heavier cuts on the EP and offers some of the band’s thickest, most dense guitar riffs peppering it throughout and along with Ian’s varying guitar tones and licks the result is just an extremely kick-ass track…and probably my personal favorite right now. It is followed up by another extremely solid song, “Slip”, which yet again showcases some brilliant guitar work that merges quite well with the rest of the band’s empathetic and seemingly internally natural musical strengths to deliver music fans an incredible, intricate, and highly magnetic debut from the cast of Sang Sarah."
